shoes dont grow on trees right...?

this picture caught my attention recently off some blog i check every now and then. when i started to read more about it, the concept behind it really sparked my interest. the shoes, called The Virgin Collection, are by the Dutch company, OAT and are made up of a line of fully biodegradable shoes. now when i first read that, i thought cool.. nothing spectacular, but a ggreat concept especially with all the current eco-trends today. now the cool part about these shoes is that each one actually has seeds embedded in the tongues. so you can dispose of the shoes by burying them, they would then completely decompose and out would grow an assortment of wild flowers. this completely blew my mind. it was just so.. artistic in a sense? the other cool thing with these shoes are unlike many of eco-friendly brands, these guys are actually very design and style conscious. the shoes are really clean and classy and the color combos work real nice and 'naturally'. i really wouldn't mind owning a pair or two of these shoes. and planting them a few years down the line would definitely be an interesting thing to do once their worn out. had an idea of doing some long term time-lapse project with these. i still really love that first picture though, makes me want to try my hand at bonsai trees grown in sneakers. or even a starting a garden in the back yard with trees and flowers sprouting from kicks...

_they should do a kush edition if you know what i mean
